Sun City Summerlin Clubs

Sun City Summerlin Charities – Provides residents unable to drive transportation to medical appointments, shopping; Offers handyman service and assists in contacting local and government services.

Sun City Caring Caller – Will call any resident age 60 or older who is living alone to check on his or her health and welfare.

Sun City Security Patrol – Statistics for a recent month indicate that Security Patrol members volunteered a total of 6,933 hours; patrolled Sun City 24/7 driving 13,202 miles. They perform house checks as requested and report suspicious persons. The security Patrol has a central dispatch office to coordinate the activities of officers in the field. They also respond to “911” lights. Note that all Sun City homes are equipped with an interior emergency switch that activates a exterior blinking light to let neighbors and/or security patrol that you are in need of assistance.

Sunshine Service Club – Provides medical and children’s equipment for resident use.

Classes, activities, lectures and events

Any given month the list here is extensive. What I represent here will be some examples, but should not be considered comprehensive. The three fitness centers and pools offer several organized activities and classes. The Starbright Theater at The Pinnacle Recreation Center has several scheduled performances every month. Several Sun City groups perform here and entertainers are brought in from outside the community. Trips to local events and points of interest are scheduled every month. Also every month will have it own unique activities such as lectures, parties and dances. Craft fairs and health screenings are held throughout the year. There is also a very large, bi-annual garage sale that attracts thousands of individuals.
