If you want to really live “in” Las Vegas, then central Las Vegas is the place for you. There are a wide range of housing options here. On and around 6th street are some great old (by Vegas standards circa 1950’s) homes. Another area of nicer homes are those in the Las Vegas Country Club. There are several smaller gated communities in this area. Homes in this area can be very modestly priced, but can range well into the millions. Paradise Palms is another area of classic “vegas style” homes, many with golf course frontage. What homeowners in this area have in common is that they love being close to, for lack of a better word, the “action”. Think about it, here you can live literally within walking distance from what many people travel thousands of miles to experience. They also enjoy homes that, to them, reflect more of the character of the city than what is currently being built.
This central area has, over the last few years, turned into a hot bed of commercial and residential activity. The World Market Center, a wholesale furniture mart, has opened with two buildings presently and over 3,000,000 sq. ft. of floor space. Union Park, to be built on 61 acres west of Fremont is becoming a reality with the Lou Duvo Brain Institute, Smith Center for the performing arts is now in place. Substantial commercial and residential development is also planned for Union Park. Soho Towers, a residential high-rise, is now completed.
